Congressional Black Caucus is Useless

 


The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has faced criticism for failures in protecting Black political power, particularly around redistricting, internal divisions, and its alignment with party leadership. These challenges have raised questions about whether the caucus has lived up to its founding mission of advancing Black representation and civil rights.

CBC, another Black man was found hanging from a tree at the Brookfield Golf Course in Wisconsin! His name was Torrence Medley 39 & he had no mental health issues! This was ruled a suicide immediately and the NAACP wants it to be investigated properly since this is extremely suspicious




Key Areas of Criticism

  • Redistricting threats: Nearly a third of CBC members are in districts vulnerable to Republican-led redistricting efforts. Analysts warn this could shrink the caucus significantly, undermining decades of progress in Black representation ABC News.

  • Reliance on party leadership: The CBC has often aligned closely with Democratic leadership, such as its strong support for President Biden even amid growing doubts about his candidacy. 📊 The Current Reality

  • Black maternal mortality: In 2023, Black women died at a rate of 50.3 per 100,000 live births, compared to 14.5 for White women.

  • Black infant mortality: In 2023, Black infants had a mortality rate of 10.9 per 1,000 live births, nearly double the national average of 5.6.

  • Leading causes: Low birthweight, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), and maternal complications are disproportionately higher among Black infants.

  • Systemic drivers: Disparities persist even when controlling for income and education, pointing to racism, discrimination, and unequal access to healthcare
